Grand Young Women is an integral part of our intergenerational GrandWomen project, linking the concept of what it takes to become a strong, resilient, wise and loving elder woman with young women ages 17-23 from AFAHO (African Family and Health Organization).
We have been deeply heartened by the young women’s powerful responses to the filmed stories of the elder GrandWomen, as well as by the tender intergenerational relationships that have blossomed between them. Thank you to Tiguida Kaba and Hilda Campbell for taking the time to beam their love.
These five young women from Kenya, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Cote D’Ivoire will share their personal stories about navigating language, custom and philosophical differences as they grow into womanhood in America in a new creative film by Daniel Madoff. We hope their testimonies well as initiate deepen intergenerational connections in workshops and discussion groups.
We hope you will join us in celebrating these young women on August 13th. |
