A five year project to digitize the records of some of Philadelphia’s most historic congregations concludes with more than 80,000 records placed online and nearly 12,000 of those transcribed. Scholars, archivists, and transcribers will share their stories of how these records inform our understanding of the past, and perhaps the present, in an afternoon session beginning at 1:30PM. Light refreshments follow. Julie Winch, Ph.D., Professor of History from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, who specializes in the history of African Americans, the Early Republic, maritime history, and online research will deliver the keynote address at 6PM.
Hybrid program: in-person and virtual.
