Experience the Museum of the American Revolution’s newest first-person theatrical performance at Historic Christ Church!
Meet James Forten explores Forten’s life as a free Black Philadelphian, Revolutionary War privateer, and stalwart abolitionist. Following the live performance, actor Nathan Alford-Tate and Michael Idriss, the Museum’s African American Interpretive Fellow, will join Christ Church Director of Public Engagement Hannah Wallace for a talkback discussion about how and why this new theatrical piece was created and why Forten’s story continues to resonate with audiences today. This program is open to the public with a recommended donation to Christ Church Preservation Trust.
