Jessie and her mother live in a small house on a country road. Jessie’s marriage ended in divorce. Her son is a petty thief, she can’t keep a job, she has epilepsy, and her life is stale. One night, Jessie and her mother get into a heated debate about life and living. The push and pull of their debate (sometimes quiet, sometimes tempestuous) ultimately exposes many of the deepest and darkest questions we tend to ask ourselves about our own lives.
“Night Mother” was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Nominated for Four Tony Awards, including Best Play.
