On Wednesday, February 26 and Thursday, February 27, Philadelphia Dance Projects presents performances by Megan Mazarick and Marion Ramirez as part of its 2020 mid-week/mid-winter DANCE UP CLOSE series.
Megan Mazarick creates dance work that is humorous, serious, theatrical, and personal, often including a stop motion physicality and a love of fantasy. Mazarick will perform solo work including Boundaries, a series of dance theater sketches and movement vignettes with more overtly political subject matter.
Marion Ramirez uses dance as a vehicle "to inhabit the body's sense of agency to empower self-knowledge, to approach cultural exchange, to resist violence and to engage respectfully with the world." She will present solo and duet excerpts from kNots and Nests.

Megan Mazarick created Boundaries during a PDP BILATERAL: Budapest/Philadelphia Dance Artist Exchange in 2017.

"kNots and Nests" is the product of a recent commission that Marion Ramirez received from Temple University's Boyer College of Music & Dance.
